Who we are…
Blue Oak Systems is led by Max Stanton, a Bay Area native with more than fourteen years of experience designing, programming, installing, and supporting low voltage systems throughout the luxury residential and commercial market.
Max was introduced to the industry through Metro Eighteen in San Francisco, where he quickly developed a passion for the problem solving and system architecture behind modern smart home technology. What began with programming and integration soon evolved into broader roles in engineering, operations, client consultation, and project design.
Over the years, that experience expanded across a wide range of systems — from lighting control and shading to networking, energy management, distributed audio/video, and whole-home automation. Along the way, Max also gained firsthand experience with the challenges and responsibilities that come with building and operating a successful business.
After years in the field, Blue Oak Systems was reestablished with a renewed focus on thoughtful system design, long-term reliability, and direct client involvement. Today, the company works closely with homeowners, builders, architects, and designers to engineer systems that feel intuitive, stable, and built to evolve with the home over time.
Outside of work, Max remains passionate about travel, photography, technology, and the outdoors — interests that continue to influence both his perspective and approach to design.
Away from projects, you will find Max fly fishing, camping, scuba diving, foraging, and exploring throughout Northern California and the Pacific Northwest.
That time outdoors continues to shape his appreciation for thoughtful design, quiet environments, and systems that feel naturally integrated into the spaces around them.
